Participate in FIU nutrition research
MetA-Bone Trial is an NIH-sponsored and FIU nutrition research study. We are conducting a nutritional randomized double-blinded placebo-controlled clinical trial in children to test a common fiber supplement on bones (ages 9-14 years).
Our purpose is to evaluate the effects of consuming a daily common pre-biotic fiber supplement on bone health in children aged 9-14 years, which is when their bones are growing the fastest. This is when future fractures and osteoporosis can be prevented!!!
We provide monetary compensation to cover transportation, food, and time costs (in total, parents will receive $310 and children will receive $150). Additionally, participants receive a copy of the bone scans and labs performed on the child, service hours, and tours of our labs.
